Bouwsector Nederland is a Dutch contractor that finishes and renovates homes all over the Netherlands from its base in Utrecht. Our office team speaks English, so you can arrange everything with us in English.
Our own wallpaper hangers, plasterers and painters do the finishing, and our four in-house contractor teams take on complete renovations, inside and outside. You receive a free quote by email within 24 hours, based on the fixed prices per m² in our own price list.

We work for people who are moving into a new-build home, renovating a house they have just bought, or getting a home ready to sell. You can hire us for a single trade or for the whole job.
Service
What it includes
New-build finishing
The bare walls and ceilings of a newly built home made ready to live in: a skim coat where needed, then renovlies, then paint.
Wallpapering
Renovlies, glass-fibre wallcoverings and non-woven wallpaper, including removing old wallpaper.
Plastering
Walls and ceilings plastered smooth and ready to paint, skim coats, and textured walls made smooth again. Exterior plastering on request.
Painting
Walls and ceilings, stairs, interior doors and frames. Exterior painting on request.
Complete renovation
We act as general contractor: electrics, walls, floors, kitchen and tiling, inside and outside, plus all the finishing.
The finishing is done by 97 tradespeople on our own payroll: 40 wallpaper hangers, 32 plasterers and 25 painters. Together they finish more than 600 new-build homes a year, and we have been doing this work for 10 years.
What is renovlies?
Renovlies, sometimes called renovation fleece, is a paintable fleece wallcovering. We hang it on the walls, caulk the corners and edges, and paint it, as standard in white (RAL 9010 or 9016).
It is the finish most of our new-build customers choose. A new house dries out and settles in its first years, which causes hairline cracks, often at board joints, in corners and above doors. Renovlies bridges and hides those small cracks, so they do not show through the paint.
A complete home in renovlies, with hanging, caulking and painting, takes us 3 days. If the walls first need a skim coat, its drying time comes on top of that.
Dutch new-build terms explained
Dutch term
What it means
Behangklaar
Wallpaper-ready: the joints are filled and the worst unevenness is gone, but the wall is not smooth enough to paint directly.
Sausklaar
Ready to paint: plastered smooth enough to paint straight onto.
Dunpleister
A thin skim coat of plaster that makes an uneven wall flat, as a base for renovlies.
Vooroplevering
The pre-delivery inspection of your new-build home, before you get the keys.
Oplevering
The handover: the day you get the keys.
Klusopname
Our site survey: we measure up and check the walls before the final price is fixed.
Many new-build homes are handed over wallpaper-ready. If you paint straight onto such a wall, light falling across it shows every board joint and screw hole. That is why most of our customers choose renovlies, or walls plastered ready to paint, when finishing a new-build home (in Dutch).
Can you renovate a complete home?
Yes. For a complete renovation we take on the whole job as general contractor, inside and outside. You have one point of contact, and we are responsible for every trade.
The construction work, such as electrics, walls, floors, the kitchen and tiling, is done by our four in-house contractor teams of four people each. Our own wallpaper hangers, plasterers and painters do the finishing. In a new-build home, our contractor teams can also fit the floor, the kitchen and the tiling.
You can also hire us for a single job: a bathroom renovation, fitting a kitchen, flooring, an extension, a dormer, new window frames, insulation or electrics, with our own electricians.
We renovate homes for people who are about to sell and for people who have just bought. Large projects are familiar ground: at the moment we are also renovating 150 shops.
A home renovation (in Dutch) starts with a free consultation about what you want, what the house needs and when it has to be finished, for example before you move in. You then receive a plan and a quote for the whole job.
What does it cost?

Can you start before I get the keys?
We can come and measure up at the pre-delivery inspection (vooroplevering) of your new-build home, so your quote and planning are ready before the handover. The work itself starts once you have the keys, on the day we agree together.
Do I have to pay upfront?
No. You pay 50% on the first working day, once all materials are on site and we have started, and the other 50% at handover.
How long does the work take?
A complete home in renovlies, with hanging, caulking and painting, takes 3 days. A plasterer covers on average 100 m² a day. If the walls need a skim coat first, its drying time comes on top of that.
Do you work in my area?
Yes. We work across the whole of the Netherlands from our base in Utrecht, and we do the site survey at your home wherever you live.
